About Me

📢
International Security Scholar | Programmes Coordinator | Public Commentator | Podcast Host
Established security scholar uniting rigorous research, policy practice, and high‑profile media commentary on international security in the Caribbean and beyond. With advanced degrees and professional roles across three continents, I bring a distinctly cosmopolitan lens to contemporary security challenges. My multicultural background and in-depth engagement with European, Asian, Caribbean, and Latin American contexts make me one of the few professionals able to offer genuinely global, comparative insight into today’s security landscape.

International Academic Foundation
My educational background reflects exceptional international breadth, having earned a Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of International Affairs and Strategic Studies at Tamkang University in Taiwan (2013-2017). My academic journey began with Master's and Bachelor's degrees in International Relations from Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, Poland, with specializations in Strategic Studies and Eurasian affairs respectively. Currently serving as a Lecturer and Programmes Coordinator at the Institute of International Relations and International School for Development Justice at The University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago since 2018. The educational background demonstrates my remarkable adaptability across diverse cultural and institutional environments.

Research Excellence
My research portfolio spans multiple security domains, with over 25 peer-reviewed publications in journals like Third World Quarterly, International Peacekeeping, Defence Studies, Journal of Military Ethics among several others that can be found here. My scholarly work addresses critical contemporary issues such as Caribbean security challenges, terrorism and counter-terrorism, trafficking dynamics, and defense diplomacy, demonstrating both theoretical and methodological rigor and practical policy relevance.

International Engagement and Leadership

Beyond traditional academic roles, I have been actively engaged with international organizations and government agencies as a consultant and expert advisor. I have organized numerous international webinars and symposiums (for example, click here). The work with international organizations exemplifies my ability to bridge academic research with practical security policy applications.

This international and intercultural foundation, combined with rigorous research skills and extensive practical experience positions me as a valuable contributor to any academic or policy-oriented initiative requiring nuanced understanding of global security dynamics and cross-cultural competence.
