About Me

The academic background allows me to understand the complex nature of human relations while the nomadic life illuminates its dynamism and diversity. For over 15 years, I have been working and living in three countries: Poland, Taiwan, and Trinidad and Tobago.  Each place uniquely and significantly contributed to my career and enriched my understanding of the surrounding world.

In Poland, under the supervision and mentorship of Professor Waldemar J. Dziak, I have completed BA and MA degrees at Collegium Civitas, Poland. The thesis title of the latter degree was "Regional Security of Eastern Asia in the Context of Possible Cooperation of China, Japan, and South Korea." With the support of Professor Dziak, we have turned it into a book publication that focuses on the People's Liberation Army. The publication opened the door for me to pursue a further academic career by doing a PhD in Taiwan.

In 2013, I was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan (R.O.C.) to pursue PhD degree at the Graduate Institute of International Affairs and Strategic Studies, Tamkang University. Under the supervision of Professor Shih, Cheng-chuan, the thesis focused on the role of culture in counterinsurgency operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The title of the thesis: "Building Blocks of Culture in Complex Conflict Environment: Knowledge, Awareness, and Sensitivity." I have completed the degree in 2017. Afterward, I was offered a contract by the Institute of International Relations (IIR) at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago.

Since my employment at the IIR, I have published several peer-reviewed articles, engaged in interdisciplinary collaboration, and cooperated with practitioners in the security field. The past years have been an enriching cultural experience and an opportunity to conduct impactful research that has contributed to a better understanding and offer solutions to threats in the Caribbean region.

Fifteen years of nomadic life and counting, each year dedicated to my academic journey and the pursuit of knowledge.
